ballot?
Complete an “Application for Absent Voter’s Ballot” (available at the
Township Clerk’s Office) and submit it to the Clerk's Office at 6201 W.
Michigan Ave. (at Platt), Ann Arbor MI 48108. You must be
registered to vote at the time of application, with a valid signature on
file for verification of voter identity. You can receive a ballot by
mail or in the office at the time of application, depending on how close
to election day you make the request.
- Where can I register to vote?
Township residents can register to vote at the Pittsfield Charter
Township Clerk's Office or at any Michigan Secretary of State Office.
Under the national Motor Voter law, implemented by the statewide
Michigan Qualified Voter File, a change in your driver's license address
will produce a change in your voter registration location, and vice
versa.
- How long will it take for me to receive the
FOIA information requested?
The time that is allowed for a public body to respond to a
FOIA request is five business days, starting on the day
after the request is received (six if the request is received by
mail or fax). Unclear requests receive a response within five
business days of clarification. Complex requests may require
a financial deposit and extended time for fulfillment.
- Where can I get a copy of my birth
certificate?
Certified copies of Birth, Death, and Marriage Records are available in
the Vital Records Office of the County in which the event took place.
Each county only maintains records for events (birth, death, and
marriage) that take place within their boundaries. Requests can also be
made by mail.
- Where can I apply for a marriage
license?
Applications for marriage licenses are available at the Vital Records
Office in the Washtenaw County Clerk's Office, 200 N. Main St. (at Ann
St.) in Ann Arbor. For questions call 734/ 222-6720.
- How do I review or get copies of public
information?
Agendas, minutes, ordinances, and many other items are available for
viewing and downloading from this web site. You can also pick up a copy
at the Township Clerk’s Office at 6201 W. Michigan Ave. Copies of
current public documents are published by posting at the Township
Clerk's Office and on this web site.
- How do I request Township information under
the Freedom of Information Act?
A FOIA request can be made by filling out the appropriate form in the
Clerk's Office, or by sending a detailed, written request by mail or fax
(944-8024) or email to clerk@pittsfieldtwp.org.
- How do I report a street light that is
out?
Call the Clerk's Office at 734/822-3120 and report the location of the
outage. The Clerk will contact the utility company to make the repair.
It will help if you can report the pole number (usually visible on a
metal tag) the street, the nearest intersection, and whether the pole is
metal or wood.
