Pittsfield Charter Twp, MichiganPittsfield Department of Public SafetyEmployment Opportunities Thirty-nine sworn police officers, supported by ten auxiliary officers, make up the police division. They respond to approximately 15,000 calls for service per year. A variety of bureaus and teams have been developed to enhance police services to the community. They include criminal investigations, a K-9 unit, a Domestic Violence investigator, field training officer cadre, firearms, accident investigation, arson investigation, Motor Carrier Enforcement Program (including Weigh Master), a representative assigned to a multi-jurisdictional task force in drug enforcement, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), and a Community Oriented Police program. Fire and police personnel are joined by nine
clerical dispatchers, a public safety community coordinator, an office
coordinator, clerical personnel, and several part time employees in carrying
out the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety Mission.
