Local Assistance Available at Administration Building
Pittsfield has agreed to assist Census 2010 efforts in ensuring that everyone in the community is counted accurately by hosting a Questionnaire Assistance Center (QAC) at the Township Administration Building
(6201 W. Michigan Avenue, 48108) during the following dates/times:

Mondays, 11am - 4pm: March 1st through April 19th
Wednesdays, 9:30am: - 2:30pm: March 3rd through April 14th
Thursdays, 11am - 4pm: March 4th through April 15th

The QAC is staffed by a Census employee to assist individuals that
do not understand how to complete the Census 2010 questionnaire, who have questions about the Census in general, OR who need language assistance. Census questionnaires are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Russian. A translation guide is also available in 59 languages.

The Township Administration Building (6201 W. Michigan Avenue, 48108) will also function as a
Be Counted site.

Blank questionnaires will be available from
March 19th through April 19th for people who need them in order to be counted. The completed questionnaire will be mailed directly to the Census by the respondent.

In March 2010, more than 130 million addresses across the nation will receive a census form. one of the shortest census forms in history, the 2010 Census form asks 10 questions and takes only 10 minutes to complete. Completing your census form is easy, important and safe. Your participation is essential to ensuring a brighter tomorrow for our community.

Required once every 10 years by the U.S. Constitution, the census will count everyone in the United States, both citizens and noncitizens. Census data are used to reapportion the U.S. House of Representatives, re-district each state and determine the distribution of the Electoral College. Census data also directly affect how more than $400 billion per year in federal funding is distributed to state, local and tribal governments. Census data are critical in determining locations for new hospitals, improving schools, building new roads, expanding public transportation options, creating new maps for emergency responders and much more.
